You got to be kidding me!?!

I came home from work today and flipped on the news. I thought I was hearing things but upon further research it was true. The Vatican released the Drivers' Ten Commandments. I just don't even know what to say. Isn't there something else and even better to do with your time? I mean, I understand it's got to be hard to be an institution that refuses to grow or acclimate with the times, the possiblities of things one could do in order to make the world better and you decide to declare that all Catholics should be more courteous on the road?! Isn't all that covered in the original 10 or the whole "Treat others how you would like to be treated" stuff? Forget about AIDS in Africa or all the mistreated or hungry or whatever people in this world, just don't SIN IN YOUR CAR!

In order to help save your souls, I've included them below. Now you can't claim ignorance.

1. You shall not kill.
2. The road shall be for you a means of communion between people and not of mortal harm.
3. Courtesy, uprightness and prudence will help you deal with unforeseen events.
4. Be charitable and help your neighbor in need, especially victims of accidents.
5. Cars shall not be for you an expression of power and domination, and an occasion of sin.
6. Charitably convince the young and not so young not to drive when they are not in a fitting condition to do so.
7. Support the families of accident victims.
8. Bring guilty motorists and their victims together, at the appropriate time, so that they can undergo the liberating experience of forgiveness.
9. On the road, protect the more vulnerable party.
10. Feel responsible toward others.

Now excuse me while I go slaughter things in a virtual world,
Franz
